INTERNATIONAL GATOR DAY

THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF NEW YORK

Volunteers have another successful year during International Gator Day at The Humane Society of New York!

Gator Animal Lovers returned to the Humane Society again for International Gator Day. Once a year, Gator Clubs around the world give back to their local communities.  For the past few years the Gotham Gators have helped out some of our four-legged friends by cleaning cages, painting, raising money for a raffle, doing some laundry, putting up shelves and, of course, interacting with adorable cats and dogs! .  Stay tuned for 2012 International Gator Day details this spring

CANNED FOOD DRIVE 2003-2010

Since 2003, Gotham Gators have participated in City Harvest's annual Holiday Food Drive; the food collected is used to goes towards providing meals for New York City's homeless population. Usually coinciding with the UF/FSU game, Gators bring canned food to the Gin Mill and are rewarded not only with the knowledge that they are helping NYC's less fortunate, but also with a ticket for free beer!  Our last drive took place on at the Gin Mill during Florida/Florida State 2009 and resulted in approximately 100 pounds of canned foods. Thank you to everyone who participated in the drive.

AIDS WALK 2002-2008

Members of the Gotham Gators have participated in International Gator Day by donating money to and/or walking in AIDS Walk New York from 2002 - 2008!  On Sunday, May 18, 2008, the Gotham Gators were part of the 45,000 people that helped to raise over $7 million for the 2008 Walk. Our team was among the more than 2,600 teams who raised a significant amount of this year's total. The Gotham Gators raised approximately $1,500 which adds to the record-breaking total and will help the more than 15,000 men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS who are clients of GMHC and 49 other AIDS service organizations in the Tri-State area.  Thanks to everyone who walked or donated money!
