Marissa Baron
Vice President of Membership
Marissa was born and raised in
Atlanta, GA. The daughter of two UF grads, she knew early on that she was destined to be a Gator. As a student, she was an active member of her sorority, various honors societies and other student government organizations. She graduated from the Warrington College of Business in 2003 with a Bachelors Degree in Finance and a minor in Mass Communication. She completed half of a Masters Degree in Decision Information Sciences before realizing that she was pursuing it more because she loved being a Gator in Gainesville than because she loved computers. So when she received an offer for a great job opportunity with Citigroup, she accepted and moved to Tampa, FL. In 2005, she was transferred to
Baltimore, MD for a year before she moved to New York City, which was one of the best decisions she's ever made. Currently, she's pursuing a Masters in Public Administration at NYU.
Although she's a southern Gator at heart, she loves living in New York. In addition to her involvement with the Gotham Gators, Marissa enjoys trying new restaurants, painting pottery, grocery shopping at Whole Foods, baking, and long walks along the Hudson River. A regular at the Gin Mill during football season, she's always felt connected to the Gotham Gators. But her desire to become more involved led her to take a more active role. She is thrilled to serve on the Gotham Gator board, and is committed to growing the active membership of the Gator Nation in New York City. She’d love to hear from you, so please feel free to contact her at
