Vice President, NETWORKING
Marcos is originally from New York City. As a child, he lived in New York and Ecuador. Upon graduation from the American School of Guayaquil, he attended the University of Florida. There he graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science in 1995 and a M.A. in Latin American Studies, class of '98. He then joined Sears Roebuck and Co., completing its executive training program and became a salaried manager. He immediately enlisted in Sears' UF college recruitment team and a year later became their captain for UF talent acquisition. Since then he has been involved in the identification, selection, hiring, training and development of hundreds of individuals in many different markets. He has been certified as a trainer, campus recruiter, interviewer, and talent assessor. His latest assignments include stints in Miami, San Francisco, and now New York. He currently is a General Manager in the Bronx, leading the second largest JCPenney operation in the country.
With Gotham Gators, Marcos is in charge of Networking and Professional Development. He has assisted fellow Gators with resume and cover letter evaluations, interviewing skills, mock interviews, career advisement, networking, and much more. Together with fellow Gotham Gator Kenia Intriago, Marcos is available to provide valuable training on career skills upon request.
