The Gotham Gators will be watching both Gator Football and Basketball games at various bars in and around New York City! This page contains ALL the information that you will need regarding Gotham Gator Viewing.

Football Viewing Parties

Due to popular demand, the Gotham Gators now offer 4 different Football Viewing Party venues in the New York Metro Area.  Details on each venue, including drink specials and directions are below.

The Gin Mill (Upper West Side)

The Gin Mill is our primary viewing location for all Gotham Gator Viewing Parties. The Gin Mill is located at 442 Amsterdam Avenue, practically at the northwest corner of Amsterdam and 81st Street on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The Gin Mill is an old sports bar that at least one college football fanatic thinks is reminiscent of the Purple Porpoise...god rest its soul! Please join us as we cheer the Gators to victory!

Specials for Gators during all viewing parties include:

• $8 Pitchers of Domestic beer
• $13 Pitchers of Imported beer
• $16 Pitchers of Premium Imported beer
• $3, $3.50 and $4 pints of Domestic, Imported and Premium Imported beer
• $3 well shots / $3.50 call shots
• $3 "Gator Shot" (Southern Comfort with a splash of lime)
• $2 Gator Jello Shot (Orange & Blue of Course)!  NEW this season!

NOTE:  Due to the popularity of watching Gator games at The Gin Milll, TABLE RESERVATIONS AND EARLY ARRIVAL ARE SUGGESTED for viewing parties. A limited number of table reservations are available to paid UFAA/Gotham Gator members only.  Additionally, most of the upstairs bar stools and the entire downstairs bar will be available first come, first serve. Doors at the Gin Mill will typically open one hour before kickoff to access all the non-reserved seating. CONSULT THE GIN MILL TABLE RESERVATIONS PROCESS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Sidebar (Union Square)

Were you a dedicated Proof patron?  Do you miss Zach?  Don't worry - though the doors of Proof have closed, a bigger and better option has opened, from the same team that brought you Proof, Sidebar!  A stone's throw from Union Square, this location is very convenient for any Gotham Gator!  The bar is beautiful, there are too many T.V.'s to count, and of course, Zach will be there to lead the Gator Cheers!  Please join our newest Gotham Gator bar, Sidebar, this football season, easily located next to Union Square, with the following drink specials:

• $25 Buckets of Domestic

Town Tavern (West Village)

Can't make it uptown? Too crowded at the Gin Mill? Need a change of scenery? Come get acquainted with Town Tavern that is offering a GATOR PACKAGE you can't refuse!  $25 Gator Package (with Reservations - $30 at the Door) includes:

• Unlimited Draft and Bottle Beers (ALL Draft and Bottle options)

Rookies (Huntington Village, Long Island)

Hello Long Island Gators,

One year after defeating Alabama for the 2008 SEC Championship, our defending National Champion Gators will return to Atlanta and meet the Crimson Tide for another shot at the SEC Title and ultimately a birth in the National Championship Game! 

Rookies in Huntington Village loves Gator fans and invites you to join all the Gators at the Official University of Florida Viewing location on Long Island for the show-down this Saturday!  On December 5th around 3pm Rookies will become a hub for hardcore Gator fans!  What better way to enjoy the game but to get the best fans on Long Island together that will cheer on our Mighty Gators to victory? 

Rookies has kicked it up a notch from the regular season specials by offering some additional items such as specialty drinks and menu items specially created for Gator fans!

• $5.00 - List of special appetizers
• $2 Draft and Bottled Beer
• $1 shots after every Gator TD (Soco Lime? Other shot)
• Kids eat free during the game
• 10% off the entire dinner check

Rookies is located at 70 Gerard Street in Huntington, NY (631-923-0424). 

For those Gators in New Jersey who find it difficult to make the trek to the UWS early on a Saturday morning, or for those that are just too hung over to make it, we are bringing Gotham Gator viewing parties to the garden state. This year the Black Bear Bar & Grill will be hosting our NJ Gotham Gator viewing parties upstairs in the front area (this area is called LEXI), Hoboken style.  Black Bear will feature a large projection screen, more flat screens than you can count, Golden Tee, Darts, two full bars and available outdoor seating. Football viewing party specials include:

• $3.00 Sam Adams Lager 
• $3.00 Seasonal Drafts
• $9.99 Miller Lite Pitchers
• Weekly food specials

Black Bear is located at 205 Washington Street in Hoboken (3 blocks from the Path Train).  Tables and bar stools will be reserved on the second floor according to demand.  Call 201-656-5511 to let them know you are coming or click here  for more info.

Gin Mill Table Reservations (Football Parties Only)

Exclusive Right to Paid Members: Only paid UFAA/Gotham Gators are able to reserve a limited number of tables at the Gin Mill for Gator Football Viewing parties. Reservation requests are limited to a maximum of 4 people per paid UFAA/Gotham Gator. Tables are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you have ever been to a Gator Football viewing party at the Gin Mill, you know that it gets pretty crowded! So, between reservations and advanced admission, many have come to realize that membership has its benefits.

Table reservation requests will again this year be submitted via the Gotham Gator RSVP Portal. The portal will open at 12:00 AM EST the Monday before each game and will close at midnight Friday or when capacity has been reached.

Only one RSVP request may be submitted per event, and once you have submitted your request you cannot make any changes. On the portal please enter the following information:

• Full Name and Email Address
• Number of People in Party (MAX 4)
• General area request (i.e., Bar area, downstairs, near Mary Sue, etc.)

If your reservation is accepted, you will receive a confirmation that your request was received. The Gin Mill will do its best to accommodate requests, but no promises can be made. Once you arrive to the Gin Mill, please either look for your name on the tables or ask a member of the Gin Mill staff where your table is located. Gotham Gator officers will not know the location of your reserved table. 

Don't Lose Your Seat! The goal here is to have everyone seated and served BEFORE kickoff. Unless at least half your party shows up to claim your reserved table BY FORTY FIVE MINUTES BEFORE KICK-OFF, your table will be given to other patrons who are waiting / standing nearby. There is simply just too much demand to hold tables any longer than this. Arrive early and there should be no problem!

Town Tavern Reservations (Football Parties Only)

Exclusive Right to Paid Members: Only paid UFAA/Gotham Gators are able to RSVP and receive the lower $25 price at Town Tavern for Gator Football Viewing parties. Reservation requests are limited to a maximum of 4 people per paid UFAA/Gotham Gator. TABLES ARE NOT RESERVED, but you are guaranteed the $25 entry price due at the door. Town Tavern has an amazing deal for our Football Game Viewing parties (see special above), take advantage and get that deal for only $25 by RSVP'ing through the portal below!  Many have come to realize that membership has its benefits.

Basketball Viewing Parties

Enjoy all the benefits mentioned above without the headache of reservations! Tables are first-come, first-served at Sidebar, Town Tavern, in the back of the Gin Mill, upstairs and Brother Jimmy's (Lexington location) will be accepting reservations directly. Join fellow Gators as we cheer the Gator basketball team to victory.

New Basketball Viewing Location (Brother Jimmy's):

This year, Brother Jimmy's, located on Lexington and 31st St. has offered to host our basketball viewing parties.  They will be offering some specials exclusive to the Gator games.  So if your there for any Gator basketball game, please make sure you mention you are associated with the Gotham Gator club.   They will also offer any regular specials associated with their Lexington location.
