Jacqueline Episcopio

Gotham Gator Incoming Freshman Scholarship Recipient

I'm Jacqueline Episcopio, born and raised in Goshen, New York. Goshen is a small town in Orange County, about two hours upstate of the city. Here I live with my mom and sister. All of us, including my mother, have attended the Goshen Central School District from kindergarten to 12th grade. Currently my mom is a teacher in the district. In school my favorite subjects are math and science, explaining my choice of major as biomedical engineering. At the age of three I started dancing and have continued with it throughout high school. I plan on continuing my dancing throughout college. The main reason I chose to further my education at the University of Florida was because of their outstanding academics and school spirit.

Remi Cros

Gotham Gator Incoming Freshman Scholarship Recipient

Hi, I’m Remi Cros and I am from the Jersey Shore in Ocean Township, NJ. Growing up, my two passions were soccer and singing. I was on travel soccer teams since the age of 6 years old and performing in shows as long as I can remember. In high school I decided to join the track team to train for soccer and fell in love with the sport. I traded my cleats for running sneakers and earned varsity letters in both cross country and track. In addition to my sports, I was active in the Key Club, French Club, and Varsity Club and I dedicated my free time coaching disabled children in soccer. I love children and I spent my summers in high school as a camp counselor for 5‐6 year olds at a local day camp. I really enjoyed high school and have great memories of all the good times shared with my friends and family. I am so excited about attending the University of Florida and I look forward to all of the new experiences, friends and academic opportunities that lie ahead in Gator Nation!

Patrick Goodrich

Gotham Gator Continuing Education Scholarship Recipient

First and foremost thank you to all the alumni who support this university, its students, and the Gotham Gator Club through their time, effort, money, and other means. That unrivaled support for other Gators is one of the main reasons why I chose to attend the University of Florida along with the best combination of quality of education, leadership opportunities, and recreation that any university could offer. My name is Patrick Goodrich and I am going into my fourth year at the University of Florida. I am studying Economics and Public Leadership with aspirations to enroll in a joint Juris Doctor and Masters in Public Policy program after graduation. I have a deep interest in education, specifically educational policy. My passion for education stems from the beliefs that one, investment in education produces some of the greatest returns to society and two, every single individual deserves an opportunity to find their passions and fulfil their potential. An effective and equitable education system gets us closest to achieving that. At school most of my time is spent in my fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon, as a Campus Diplomat, working as a Resident Assistant, or playing soccer and beach volleyball. This summer I will be interning at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies. Again, I thank you for your support and I hope to meet some of you in the city!
